inside the bottle / winery notes

At sight is presented with a very good depth of color, highlighting the nuances red violaceous characteristic of malbec. The sweet red fruits very well amalgamated with vanilla leaves, dark chocolate and smoked from its passage through French and American oak of first use, emphasize both the intensity and the aromatic complexity of this great varietal.

Marked presence of fruit in its entrance, sweet and mature tannins that show all the structure and the robust body of this excellent wine.

critical acclaim

"The 2010 Gran Estirpe Malbec is a well-oaked red from Malbec fruit from Lunlunta in Maipu aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. There is intensity of fruit but at the moment the charred character of the barrels and the spicy and smoky notes are very strong so you need to dive deep to find the ripe red and black fruit which seems to be able to absorb the generous dose of oak. One to wait for. Drink 2015-2020." - Wine Advocate

"Lush and ripe, it presents maple, blackberry, coconut and balsam aromas. The palate is big and creamy, with a shock of acidity in the midpalate. Coconut and cream flavors are oak-derived, while blackberry essence gives way to raisin and fig on the finish, which shows a salty, briny character." - Wine Enthusiast
